Gerrymandering makes the man

While the gerrymander occurred back in 2011, it’s the gift that’s keep on giving for Republicans, keeping them in power after bad election years (2012) and producing massive majorities in good ones (2014).

The gerrymander has ensured that for at least a decade, the GOP will box above its political weight and win a higher share of legislative seats than its actual share of the Wisconsin electorate.

And that helps explain how Gov. Walker and his party are managing the difficult feat of enacting very conservative policies in a purple and often blue-leaning state.
