The projects include a 400-bed dorm at Whitewater, with an estimated cost of $28 million, and a 350-bed dorm at Eau Claire with an estimated cost of $33 million. They were approved in Gov. Scott Walker’s 2013-15 budget and cited as necessary to ease a student housing crunch on each campus. Construction was scheduled to start this fall with both slated to open in time for fall semester 2016.
