Dept of Public Instruction conducts onsite review of school’s plywood seclusion box

Mandy Rennhack said her autistic son was put into a plywood 5 by 7 foot box March 27. She was concerned about the amount of time he was in the box and does not want the school to use the box. Rennhack’s son has Asperger’s syndrome, a disorder that’s part of the autism spectrum which affects development in children. Records show Rennhack’s son was in the room 80 minutes.
