Journal Sentinel Editorial Slams WI GOP Draft Immigration Bill

In [Rep. Donald] Pridemore’s bill, people arrested or charged with crimes, who invited “reasonable suspicion,” could be compelled to prove legal residency or be turned over to immigration authorities. They might be held up to 48 hours if they are having trouble tracking down the needed documentation.

The risk to civil liberty is obvious. Even more obvious is the divisive quality of the measure.
