It was Michael Best attorney Eric McLeod who represented Gableman for two years during the investigation of him by the state Judicial Commission but charged him no fee. But it turns out there was another investigation of Gableman that McLeod handled, by the state Office of Lawyer Regulation.
I [Bruce Murphy] phoned and emailed McLeod asking what fee he charged Gableman for handling this case and have gotten no response. My call to Gableman was also not returned. The JS asked Michael Best General Counsel Jonathan Margolies a more general question, whether Gableman had paid for other work Michael Best has performed for Gableman. Margolies declined to say.
