Walker Admin slammed over new Capitol permit policy

The Walker administration defended its updated policy that requires more permits for protests and other events at the state Capitol — and says protesters could be billed for security and cleanup costs — during a Tuesday morning meeting led by Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs.

But protesters at the 9 a.m. meeting, the first of three “informational compliance sessions” planned for this week in the Capitol basement, said the policy seeks to silence critics of Gov. Scott Walker, violates freedom of speech and will be challenged in court.
