According to a news release from the department, the men were armed with handguns when they entered the home about 1:15 p.m. Saturday. They tied up the 13 occupants, ages 4 to in their 30s, with duct tape. All were forced into a small room. Some of the victims were struck with the weapons and some were kicked.
While the intruders ransacked the home, stealing money and jewelry, two neighbors in their 50s arrived at the home. They were immediately confronted by a lone gunman, forced from their vehicle at gunpoint and taken into the home and secured with the rest of the victims.
