But the data also show that Walker overall has made little progress toward his famous promise to add 250,000 private-sector jobs during his first term in office. In fact, the downwardly revised numbers for 2011, part of an annual statistical adjustment, put the governor further behind schedule in meeting that goal.

The previous estimates showed Wisconsin with a net gain of 13,500 private-sector jobs for 2011. The revised figures released Thursday show the state instead with a net loss of 9,700 private-sector jobs in 2011.
