Fired Milwaukee police officer Ladmarald Cates will spend the next 24 years in prison for raping a woman after he responded to her 911 call in July 2010.
U.S. District Judge J.P. Stadtmueller, who sentenced Cates on Monday in federal court in Milwaukee, said the former officer’s actions showed evidence of “a very depraved mind.”
The sentence was slightly shorter than the 30 years recommended by the prosecution.
