Racine County moving its autopsy work from Waukesha County to Milwaukee County

From the past two years the county is awaiting autopsy results for about 35 people, Terry said last week after a budget hearing with County Board members….

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office has promised to turn over cases faster, and Milwaukee is also less expensive than Waukesha County, Terry said. Waukesha County charges about $1,800 per autopsy, Terry said, while Milwaukee County charges about $1,500.
