Sauk County Supervisor ‘Apologizes’ for Anti-Semitic Slur

Supposed apology a common politician’s dodge in all sorts of controversies (‘urging’ of others, ‘anyone offended,’ ‘causing a distraction in May’):

“At the urging and requests of friends and colleagues I respect, I apologize to anyone offended by a term I used at the March 15th meeting of the Sauk County Board, which is still causing a distraction in May,” Supervisor Virgil Hartje of La Valle said in a statement received Monday by Sauk County Board Chairman Marty Krueger.
