“If the University of Wisconsin has not learned its lessons yet regarding this business group, I will try to help,” subcontractor John Nikolai of McMillan Electric in Marshfield wrote in a letter last month to unnamed state representatives. Nikolai alleged in the letter that over $630,000 in subcontractor bills was delinquent between the two projects, and that both have building code issues that still need to be addressed.
Records obtained by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel confirm the building code issues.
