Milwaukee home prices forecast to rise, but decline elsewhere

Fiserv Case-Shiller projects a 0.04% rise in the average home price in the Milwaukee area between last year’s fourth quarter and the fourth quarter 2011.

However, decreases in the average home price are forecast in the 11 other Wisconsin metro areas included in its survey: Appleton, down 2.7%; Eau Claire, down 1.3%; Fond du Lac, down 4.5%; Green Bay, down 1%; Janesville, down 3.9%; La Crosse, down 3.1%; Madison, down 3.7%; Oshkosh-Neenah, down 4.9%; Racine, down 1%; Sheboygan, down 3.9%; and Wausau, down 6.3%.
