Reilly the K-9 had a record of poor tracking and false positives

But the prosecution didn’t reveal the tracking dog’s poor performance:

But prosecutors failed to reveal Reilly’s questionable olfactory reliability when they needed his key “testimony” in a murder case.

That amounted to a Brady violation, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday, and means Gilbert Aguilar gets his 2006 murder conviction overturned, and a new trial.
