It is hard to believe that three civil rights workers — Andrew Goodman, James Chaney and Michael Schwerner — were killed five decades ago. In Mississippi to help register black voters as part of Freedom Summer, they were stopped outside Philadelphia and killed by the Ku Klux Klan. Their bodies were later found covered with Mississippi mud.
